1. What we collect
- Account info: email, display name, date of birth, gender, and authentication tokens.
- Profile info: photos, bio, city, who you're interested in.
- Activity: swipes, matches, messages, credit balances, and subscription status.
- Payment info: handled by Stripe — we never see your full card number.
- Technical data: IP address, device type, and basic logs for security and debugging.
2. How we use your data
- To match you with other users and run the core dating features.
- To process payments, deliver Premium features, and grant credits.
- To keep the platform safe — detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- To communicate with you about your account, matches, and important updates.
3. Sharing
We share data only with vendors that help us run Emberly: our hosting/database provider, Stripe (payments), and email/notification providers. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Visibility
Your profile photo, display name, age, city, and bio are visible to other authenticated users in the discovery deck. Messages are only visible to the participants of a match.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Account deletion is available from the Profile screen and removes your profile, photos, swipes, matches, and messages within 30 days. Stripe payment records are retained for tax and accounting purposes as required by law.
If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA. To exercise them, email privacy@emberly.app.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
7. Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, backups are purged within 90 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is limited to authorized personnel and protected by row-level security policies in our database.
9. Children
Emberly is for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact us immediately if you believe a minor has registered.
